Off To Africa. #tagid
The taxi came for me at 05:30 this morning. I'd slept well for the few hours I'd had but the night was filled with the kind of dreams I remember from the last time I was on Malaria prophylactics.
Dreams so surreal that they felt more real than reality itself. In my dreams I was back in Africa. Reliving some of the darker times I had experienced in 1994. Last thing before I'd gone to bed i'd tried and find some photos of my first time in Kenya. Not an easy task when I was not much into photography and none if the images I did take were digitised from evil APS film. I feel things may be different this time. Although I am travelling lighter than I have for any previous documenting trip, the lightness comes from my decision to pack a Panasonic GH1 over my Nikon D3 & lenses. And my wild idea that all I need to edit content short term is my iPad. Crazy?.. Maybe. I'm putting a lot of faith into some lightweight but complex tech. Perhaps the next trip is the trip where I take only a phone and charger and test what can be done. If you want to follow the content from the next few days. Please subscribe here..
