Redhead LiL Chewy on the Zoom H4n

I first caught glimpse of Redhead Windshields through a link on twitter and thought I'd get one for my Zoom H2. Recently though, whilst in Hong Kong I managed to get hold of a Zoom H4n. I found out that the Redhead's fit both so placed an order.

Dealing with @IAmKaliniPrince was great. I love it when you can converse directly with businesses on twitter.  $35 later and only a couple of days and I had my new 'LiL Chewy' coloured Redhead. All the way from Hawaii.

Now the windscreen included with the Zoom is good but nothing like the Redhead. When I get the chance I'll do a video like the one above and show you a comparison. Not only is it better than the standard shield at protecting the mics from the wind, it's super compact too.

If you want your own Redhead Windshield in the new 'Lil Chewy' colour, @IAmKaliniPrince was kind enough to send me an extra one to give away here.

So if you are a Zoom H2, H4 or H4n user and want a free Redhead windshield.. Let me know in the comments why you want it. If you are the only one to comment then it's yours. If there's a few comments I'll pick my favourite.

When I go to PyCon in February my new Zoom 4N will be waiting for me - and I'll be using it for lots of interviews with some very cool geeks for the "A Little Bit of Python" podcast.

As to why I want a redhead, well: geeks can't resist redheads - so I think it would improve the interviews enormously.

I'm a poor journalism student who lives in very windy Preston. My poor Zoom needs this!

I have just placed an order for a Zoom H4N and can afford a Redhead. Let one of the others have it

I don't have that phone, but I think it would help me reduce wind noise if I just attached it to my chin. Plus.. I think chicks would then dig my tickly, red-headed chin.

I've had a Zoom H4 now for 2.5 years and love it. The foam windshield might work for a studio but sadly when on location it just doesn't cut it so the red head would be a perfect fit for my audio armoury especially when trying to get those quiet exterior sounds.

I also have an iPhone so I look forward to doing the dorky test like he did when it's windy and I also know how to click my fingers *click, click* see! Now to find a copy of Nat King Cole's Christmas Song.

I would love to do a demo of the Redhead on my zoom in the snowy Adirondack mountains to contrast those Maui test shots I've been so envious of.

Well It's happened again.

While recording the latest podcast episode with only the foam H4 wind sock I had to deal with the sea breeze creating a nuisance for me. I edited a lot out but as you can tell if you listen at 24'30" into the podcast at http://tinyurl.com/yzsc8zk there is is.

So now Christian I'm grovelling for the chance to recieve the red head. If I don't this poor new media experiment will have to continue to be produced as an inferior product until I can afford to buy or make one.

So on bended knees
From the antipodes
I hope that you will
Make me pleased

Hi Ian, this is your second comment and now you are grovelling. I guess you are going to have to have it. :)
