The LoveFresh App will change your life and the lives of those around you. All you have to do is embrace the passion obviously evident in it's creators and use it.  A bold statement I know, but I rarely get excited about something this much. It's just good all the way to it's core. [Pun intended]

Disclaimer: I know @MarkSpoff (only met him twice) who made this but have no financial interest in his business. More than anything I just love it when someone I am proud to call a friend follows through with an idea they believe in and comes out with an something as amazing as this.

Put simply, this location based service enables you to find fresh locally produced food in your area. You find it, you buy it, you eat it, you get healthy (if you don't eat too much) and at the same time, you are helping a local business who is serving the local community quality local produce. And the circle of ethical consumerism continues. You get to do good, eat good, feel good and play with tech. It's a no-brainer!

It's early days in the use of this app for me though. So far though, I've logged some local food producers and a beer maker. It's so easy to use and a pleasure to help others find the good stuff I enjoy to eat and drink.

Warning: This app has side effects: By just using it to log local food & drink suppliers, I've got to connect and make friends in my local community. I have also found myself discovering so much decent local produce my eating habits are changing. I'm certainly getting fitter as I swap quantity for quality. I'm also much more mindful of the quality of food i'm eating.  It's a big WIN all the way.

If you are going to download one app this month.. Make it this one. It's a free app and you can download it here.. Lovefresh app on iTunes

The LoveFre.sh website is worth a look too.. http://LoveFre.sh ..They are @LoveFreshHQ on twitter

Oh.. and if you really want to help the community grow and local food producers get the recognition they deserve.. please make sure you rate the Lovefresh app on iTunes The more ratings it gets the more chance it will get seen.

Draycott Brewery - Beers Made in Buckden

Today I got to meet Jon Draycott. Half of the husband and wife team behind the Draycott Brewery based in Buckden, Cambridgeshire.

Not just a top bloke, from a spare room in his house he creates some top real ale in a micro-micro brewery he built himself.

As well as recording the chat you can hear embedded on this page, I got to taste his fine ale.

He makes three beers at the moment with a fourth to be launched shortly. Buckden Bronze Bitter, Buckden Black Porter and Buckden Pale Ale.

All great beers, all "quaffable.." If you find yourself in and around Cambridgeshire go grab yourself a case. He has a great 'authentic' little business and is obviously really passionate about what he does.

I endevour to support local suppliers of great produce whereever I find them and am so pleased to have found such a gem.

You will find his website at DraycottBrewery.co.uk

Listen!
