Too Old To Be Happy, Too Young To Be Sad.

Photo
"I'm happy if you're happy" I just said to my Gran.
"I'm too old to be happy" she replied.
I had to smile. "..And I'm too young to be sad.

My Gran (@Granumentally) is 85 years old. She has good days and bad days. Today was a bit of both.

My oldest surviving relative and one of very few. I have known her longer than anyone alive. Including myself.

I'll miss her deeply when she's gone.

Right now we hug alot, smile at the little things and say "I love you" instead of goodbye.

too many people ignore their Grandies. When I saw my Grandma last week, we were signing ' here we are again, happy as can be' as we drove up to my mum's house, and she finished off the song with 'in the pissing rain' - and oh how we laughed! :)

That's beautiful and you made me cry ( you rotter)! Getting old is so scary and it creeps up on you so fast, I realise that more since my husband died. I think you and @Granumentally make a great team.

My wish for both of you is to have many more years and opportunities to share those "happy" feelings, even through sadness and nostalgia
